Our Mission

Our mission at Discovery Bridge is to provide exceptional care for children in an educational Christian environment while promoting children's God-given abilities through hands-on, developmentally appropriate lessons that enhance their social, emotional, spiritual and academic capabilities. We believe each child is a unique gift and it is our mission they know they are loved by God.

Professional and Devoted Teachers

Our teachers are carefully selected for their professionalism, extensive knowledge and for their dedication to children. Our teachers complete an extensive background check including maltreatment and fingerprints prior to employment. Each teacher lives and breathes what she teaches, providing the best possible model for our students. Our teachers are as excited about teaching as our students are about learning!

hands-on learning

We create a solid foundation for future success while partnering with parents as a team with sensory rich activities including daily crafts along with and monthly activities such as family evints, chapel and cooking.

Health and Safety Protocols

  • At Discovery Bridge we take all precautions to ensure the health and safety of each of our staff members along with students and families. We have had an air purifier installed on our HVAC unit so that air is cleaned as it cycles through the returns. Multiple times daily tables are wiped down with a diluted bleach solution. Students have their individual supplies for classroom work they perform daily. At the end of the day tables and chairs are wiped down, toys are cleaned, and the floors are steam mopped to make the classroom environment the cleanest possible! Our doors always remain locked and we have security cameras in use at each entrance.

Schedule of a typical day

  • Daily students will enter the school between 8:15-8:30 (if not participating in early drop off which begins at 7:30). Children will find their cubbies and place their items in the cubby with their name on it. Students will have a table activity upon arrival and wash hands. Next circle time will begin where students will learn a good morning song, a song about months of the year and days of the week, practice counting to 50 or 100 depending on the class, say the alphabet phonetically, say the "Pledge of Allegiance", review their Bible verse, color songs, and shapes. Afterwards the children will discuss the letter of the week using the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum by using four basic lines: big line, little line, big curve, little curve. After children complete their workbook practice they will be allowed to play in centers where social development, cognitive skills, emotional development, and imaginative play take place. Children will have a free choice in the centers to play. After students clean up a story will be read at the carpet before snack time. Students will get to be a snack helper on a rotation where they will bring a fresh fruit or vegetable along with a grain for the week. The "snack helper" will assist the teacher in handing out napkins while children wash hands. After eating their snacks the children will go outside if the weather is over 32 degrees. Children will go outside for 20 minutes of play to enhance their gross motor skills. Upon coming back to the classrooms children will put their coats or any other accessories away, go to the restroom, get a drink and regroup at the carpet with their teacher as the thematic lesson for the day along with a story to support the lesson is presented. Students will then will have a craft that again supports the lesson and reinforce it. Afterwards students will get to play at fine motor centers which will include lacing, puzzles, artwork, etc. After all students are complete they will have a math lesson. This will include the introduction to 1:1 correspondence, graphing, more than less than, number recognition, patterns, etc. Students will then have a small music session to learn beats and have fun! Lastly, students will gather their belongings and wait for their parents quietly to come through the carline to dismiss!

Monthly events and parent involvement

  • Monthly Discovery Bridge Preschool has events that parents join to show support to the students and staff. We plan the events at different times to allow for easier work schedules for those who work. Here are a list of a few events throughout the school year:
      • Grandparents Spaghetti Lunch
      • Thanksgiving Feast
      • Polar Express Sing-a-Long and Christmas party
      • Super Daddy Night
      • Mom's and Memories Tea Party
      • Field Trips
      • Big Wheel Day
Monthly calendars and family crafts are sent home if families would like to work together to create something fun that your student can return to school and share with their friends! Weekly "homework" or extra review is sent home to allow parents to partner with staff in helping create a solid foundation in their child's education!
